888casino at a glance: who it suits
888casino opened in 1997, which makes it one of the oldest online casino brands still trading. It belongs to evoke plc, the London-listed group known as 888 Holdings until 2024, whose other brands include William Hill, 888sport, 888poker and Mr Green. The casino offers slots, jackpots, table games and a live dealer section, and its in-house studio, Section8, makes games you will only find at 888.
It is a natural fit for casino players who want an established name with a large, varied library and some genuinely exclusive content. It is not the place for sports betting or poker, which run under separate 888 brands. Players should also know that evoke agreed in June 2026 to be taken over by Bally's Intralot, a deal that was still awaiting regulatory approvals when this review was written.

Our rating
Very good: 8.4 / 10. Every operator is rated on the same five criteria and weights. The overall score is the weighted mean, rounded to one decimal. Read the method.
Licensing and trust
UK players are served by 888 UK Limited, which holds Gambling Commission account 39028 with active remote casino, bingo and betting licences; 888casino.com is listed as an active domain on the register. Customers in most EU countries are served from Malta by Virtual Digital Services Limited (MGA/CRP/121/2006-09), and a further company, Virtual Global Digital Services Limited, uses Gibraltar remote gaming licences 112 and 113 for the remaining markets. 888 Casino also appears on Ontario's list of regulated sites, and Spain and Italy have their own local 888casino sites.
The regulatory record is the main reason we do not score trust higher. In 2017 the Gambling Commission imposed a £7.8 million package on 888 UK Limited after more than 7,000 self-excluded customers were able to keep using their bingo accounts, and in 2022 it fined the company £9.4 million, with an official warning, for social responsibility and anti-money laundering failings. The register also shows smaller penalties in 2024 and 2025 concerning credit card use, customer identification and self-exclusion. Both major cases came with independent audits of 888's processes ordered by the Commission, so the failings were at least examined from outside the company.
Ownership is in flux as well. evoke agreed on 5 June 2026 to an all-share takeover by Bally's Intralot, the Greek-listed company in which Bally's Corporation holds a majority stake, and evoke shareholders approved the scheme in August. Completion is expected between the last quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027, subject to gaming, competition and investment approvals. We will revisit this review once the deal closes.
Slots and table games
The UK app advertises more than 2,000 casino games and evoke puts the full library at well over 2,500, so the exact count depends on where you play. Slots dominate: video and classic titles, fruit machines, progressive and daily jackpot games, plus Slingo and instant-win games. The most distinctive part of the lobby is the Section8 catalogue, developed in-house and exclusive to 888.
Away from the reels, there are three roulette wheels (European, American and French), plus blackjack, baccarat and video poker. The overall breadth is good rather than exceptional by current standards, but the exclusive games give 888casino something that casinos built entirely on third-party content cannot offer.
For players who like to look behind the lobby, 888casino's about page points to monthly reports of the casino's payout percentage. These are aggregate figures across all play rather than a promise about any single game or session, but publishing them is a welcome bit of transparency.
Live casino
evoke describes the 888casino live offer as one of the largest selections of live tables in the world. We cannot verify that ranking, but the range is clearly broad: live roulette, blackjack and baccarat, Casino Hold'em and 3 Card Poker, along with game-show titles, all streamed to desktop and mobile. Because the live lobby sits inside the same account as the rest of the casino, you can move between phone and computer without juggling separate balances.
As with the main lobby, the live line-up depends on your licence and country. If live dealer play is your priority, look through the lobby for your country before you deposit.
Website and mobile apps
The 888 Casino app is available on Apple's App Store in the UK, where it held a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from roughly 53,000 ratings in October 2026. It gives access to slots, live tables, jackpots and the account tools, including deposit limits and reality checks. The account area also shows your history and activity, which makes it easier to keep track of the time and money you spend.
We could not confirm a native Android app for every market, but the casino is fully playable in mobile browsers on Android phones and tablets, and desktop players use the same account in any modern browser. If you prefer a larger screen, the full lobby, cashier and safer gambling settings are all available on desktop as well.
Deposits and withdrawals
British customers can use Visa or Mastercard debit cards, Apple Pay or PayPal, according to the UK app listing; credit cards have been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 2020. On the international site, the cashier adds e-wallets such as Skrill, NETELLER and MuchBetter, paysafecard vouchers and local methods such as Interac.
A helpful detail is that exchange rates are shown before you confirm a deposit, so there are no surprises if your bank account is in another currency. We have not measured withdrawal times. Expect identity checks and, at higher amounts, source-of-funds questions, which are standard at UK-licensed casinos and were central to the past enforcement cases.
Welcome offers and promotions
888casino usually advertises a welcome package for new players and runs ongoing promotions for existing ones. Terms differ by country, and UK rules on how bonuses may be designed are stricter than in many other markets, so the offer you see will be specific to your site.
Before accepting anything, check the wagering requirement, which games count towards it, the maximum stake while a bonus is active and when it expires. Treat every offer as optional; you can play without one.
Customer support
888casino says it is available in 18 languages and offers support around the clock, including live chat. Its help pages answer the common questions about paying in, cashing out, verification and managing your account.
Some requests that other casinos handle through self-service settings, including certain responsible gaming changes, are dealt with by the chat team. That adds a human check, which can be useful, but it is slower than changing a setting in your account yourself.
Because terms and help pages differ between the UK site and the international version, make sure you read the set that applies to your account. The licensing page explains which 888 company serves which region, and that company is the one any complaint should be addressed to.
Safer gambling tools
Deposit limits live in the cashier, reality checks remind you how long you have been playing, and your game history is available to review. The Take a Break option allows breaks from one day up to six weeks, and self-exclusion runs for six months or longer, with the option to exclude yourself from all sites run by the group at once.
There is also a self-assessment questionnaire and signposting to help such as GamCare, while UK players can additionally register with GAMSTOP. Given the UK enforcement history, it is sensible to set your own limits from the start rather than relying on the operator's checks.
The group-wide self-exclusion option is worth knowing about: 888casino shares its parent with several other gambling brands, and excluding across all of the group's sites closes the obvious route back through a sister site.

Our verdict on 888casino
888casino offers what many casino players are looking for: a long track record, a big and varied game library, an extensive live section and exclusive games from its own studio. Its licences are among the most demanding in the industry, and support is available around the clock in many languages.
Against that, 888 UK Limited has been sanctioned repeatedly by the Gambling Commission, and the parent group is about to change hands. Neither is a reason to avoid the brand outright, but both justify a trust score below the very top. If you sign up, set your limits on day one and use the break options if play stops feeling like entertainment.
